Why does God tell us not to trust in the arm of flesh? What does this mean? The Arm of flesh according to the Dictionary means ‘Human Strength or Aid’; in other words and for example: The Doctor says you have cancer and there is no cure, our first inclination is to cry and feel in despair, like there is no hope, but God can do anything but fail, and we must trust in God, because the Doctor can only tell you what they know, he/she is flesh and blood, a person with limited knowledge about our bodies, but God created us, and if we have Faith we must believe that God can heal us no matter what the Doctor says. Let me put this in here as well, believing that God can heal us is a great start, but remember we have a responsibility to our only body that God has created for us, yes God can heal us and completely abolish cancer from our bodies but we must make sure we are doing all we know to do to stay cancer free; such as eating the right foods that are healthy for our bodies and not eat a bunch of fast food and junk that will allow cancer to live in our bodies, or flesh if you will. The Scripture says in Jeremiah 17:5 “Cursed be the man that trusteth in man and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord” and in 2 chronicles 32:7-8 The scripture says 7 Be Strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the King of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him: 8 With him is an Arm of Flesh; but with us is the Lord our God to help us, and to fight our battles, and the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah”. In other words the people believed what the King said that the Lord God would be their deliverer from the enemies and from being destroy by the Assyrians, and He is the same God today, no matter what battle you are in; trusting God to bring you out gives us hope and faith, not waiting for someone to deliver us, because God is more than the world against us. Maybe you are not dealing with cancer, maybe you are dealing with something else, that seems impossible and man/woman will tell you it is not possible, but with God all things are possible as stated in Matthew 19:26 “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible”. and Hebrews 11:1 says “Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”. In other words we are not hoping in what we see with our flesh but believing in what we don’t see in God. Our last scripture is Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”. So in other words, We need God to fight these problems in our lives, because flesh is not strong enough alone. When we feel in despair, remember God is our Hope!!! What are your thoughts, or what would you like to add to this thought.
